Safety concerns in the evenings around the station: more street lighting and a greater police presence

For several months now, many residents have no longer felt safe in the evenings around the station and in the park. Street lighting is inadequate — several lampposts have been out of order for a long time — and there is little police presence after 8 pm. We are asking the local council to take three specific measures: more police officers in the evenings, the prompt repair of the street lighting, and CCTV cameras at the most vulnerable locations. Safety is a right for all residents of Anderlecht, regardless of which neighbourhood they live in.

Why aren’t there any CCTV cameras to keep citizens safe? Don’t try to say it’s a question of money, because there’s money for carrying out loads of pointless works to remove cars, but when it comes to safety, there’s still no money!!! Is this a financial problem, or a political decision not to install cameras?
